Project management is high in demand in variety of industries and so is the need of project managers. Organizations today face fierce competitions and tight budgets. They need to combat global challenges. In response organizations need structured approach to plan, organize, control and manage their resources (& internal capabilities) to deliver timely and in budget results.  


The purpose of this programme is to address the project and general threshold competence required to manage simple to complex projects in a variety of industries, equipped with industry tools.  


This programme is based on the Project Management Institute’s (PMI ®) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK ®), integrated into its curriculum and aligned to the SAQA qualification.  


At the end of the programme you will also write your PRINCE2 Foundational certification. For individuals, PRINCE2 certification is an invaluable asset to your career as it increases employment prospects and helps you do your job more effectively. This is true for any job function. A 2016 AXELOS survey questioned individuals in project management and other roles, such as IT, senior management and operations. They reported that "regardless of function, candidates do find that PRINCE2 is valuable to their career" (pg. 22).

    Full Time   


    • 24 months, 247 credits (10 Sessions/Week, 2:00 hours each, +- 2 ½ day/week, class times are between 08:30 & 16:00) 
    • All credits are achieved via your study duration at the academy, studio time and project based assignments.  


    *Sessions will be grouped together to lower cost of traveling, however, in some cases classes may not follow this convention and schedules are subject to change.  


    Online & Part Time   


    • Part Time = 24 months, 247 credits (2 x evening classes, 18:00 to 21:00, Mon & Wed OR Tues & Thur)  
    • Online = 24 Months, 247 credits (Online live classes, twice/week, 17:00 - 18:00, Mon & Wed OR Tues & Thurs) 
    • Credits are obtained through a combination of live virtual classes, pre-recorded video lectures and project based tasks.

  • Develop a project risk management plan for a simple to moderately complex project 
  • Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the team, department or division and ensure compliance 
  • Apply the principles of Employment Equity to dealing with terminal or chronic illnesses, particularly HIV/Aids, in the workplace 
  • Demonstrate and apply an understanding of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Act 75 of 1997)
